David Perkinton studied at Glasgow School of Art during the early 1960s and has exhibited at various galleries throughout the U.K. His work is in many private collections and he recently had paintings purchased by Scottish Enterprise. Of late, he has concentrated on seascapes with particular interest in the meeting of sky and sea. Many of the paintings in the exhibition were painted after a trip to the Greek Islands where he was particularly drawn to the intense blues and aquas of the Aegean Sea. Contrasted with this are seascapes painted in the more sombre but equally beautiful tones of the sea around the island of Arran and the Kintyre peninsula.
