Eleanor McGowan is a professional artist based in Largs, Ayrshire. She is a modern Scottish colourist and Scottish contemporary artist who draws inspiration for her still life, landscapes and seascapes, from the light & activity on the water. She is inspired by Ayrshire's coast and landscape of the islands of Scotland. Treasured memories, quirky happenings, figurative artworks all feature in her paintings as do the aspects of her daily life.
A riot of bold colour is used in a dynamic yet contemplative way, often with wryly humorous titles but always with striking character and multi-layered meaning. Her works invite & celebrate ongoing interest, discussion & intrigue, whilst being a pleasure to view & live with daily.
