In conjunction with the Buchanan 500's quinncentennial celebrations, Panik Gallery hosted a two week Local Artists' Exhibition, a first for the gallery since opening in June 2004.

Having exhibited the work from a number of local artists in previous exhibitions, such as, Anne Anderson, Connie Simmers and June Todd, we were keen to gather new talent and start an annual group exhibition of work from the local area's amateur and professional artists.

We received a fantastic response to our 'call for local artists', which revealed the abundance of talent and creativity the local area boasts. Amazingly, we were able to hang over one hundred works of art on the walls of our small gallery space on Main Street, from more than forty different local artists. Works included; painting, sculpture, photography, textiles and ceramics.

The response from the public was very encouraging with an overwhelming turnout of local residents and those from further afield eager to see the work on show, all of whom were very impressed with the quality of work and the diverse subject matter on display.

The gallery was delighted to be involved with the George Buchanan celebrations and honoured to provide a box office service for the weekend's events which were a great success.
