Helene LHOTE graduated from the Beaux Arts de Paris in 1986. Her work, which was first of all dedicated to painting, little by little left its place on the wall to become sculpture; sculpture of any size. That's where she feels best Helene Lhote's work is a reflection of her multi-cultural background: although she is of French nationality, she was born in Algeria, spent her childhood in Iran, and only touched French soil in her teenage days. From the Orient to the Occident, Helene Lhote has assimilated the different cultures she has experienced and intertwined them in her artworks. Indeed Helene Lhote's work is full of contrasts that marry well: balance and movement; soft versus hard forms; light versus shade. Despite her obvious femininity, Helene Lhote is not put off by manual work or monumental work. For her, working with steel, glass or enamel is not a masculine prerogative. Reflections, matter, sculptures, mobiles, monumental installations, drawn from her experience and determination After 20 years, Helene Lhote's work has reached a point of maturity that combines in harmony her multicultural background.
