Huw Williams began his career in 1989 having graduated from the University of Northumbria in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. For many years he worked as a freelance illustrator in London, working on newspapers, magazines, adult and children's books. Only as recently as three years ago Huw started to paint Horse's full time. The painting's are dramatic in scale, ranging from 4ft to 8ft, which gives Huw's work a unique place in the current market. Prior to this Huw had completed many private commissions including a series of hounds for the Quorn, the Meynell and the North Staffordshire Hunts, one of which was presented to the retiring huntsman by HRH Prince Charles. His paintings are now held in private and commercial collection's around the world including FLD International and the Royal Bank of Scotland. More recently he has shown new work with Lloyds TSB Bank in Scotland at their head office in Edinburgh. He lives with his wife and daughter on a farm in Perthshire where the family keep a number of horses. From his studio he can look over the fields and beyond to the River Allan running south towards Stirling. |
