Having recently acquired a small cottage on the west coast of Scotland, Joannes love of creating characters in mixed media started to take a new dimension the day she began finding faces in bits of pottery washed up on nearby beaches. Joanne works on her pictures from home in Lenzie where she lives with her husband and two young children. Their two dogs and various other pets have played their part in inspiring some of the characters in the exhibition. When she is not working on her own artwork, she enjoys encouraging others to be creative. She has led craft and mosaic workshops for community groups, most recently for Deaf Blind Scotland.
