Lynne Blaikie

Lynne was born in Aberdeen and educated in Edinburgh. She gained a primary teaching degree from Moray House College of Education though Art was always her first love. She moved to Cape Town with her husband and family and there she studied at the Ruth Prowse School of Art.

She Became a founder fember of the Artists Co-Op where drawing and painting from life was the 'raison d'eture'. Lynne has painted many subjects but loves the human figure. "I try to capture the mood and atmosphere that the subject evokes in me, If I can." Lynne Blaikie has regularly exhibited in South Africa where there is a great demand for her work, she has also sold to private collections in the U.K. and Europe.
