Mo Shankland
My new work in porcelain was inspired by collaboration with Japanese artists and originates from
traditional designs of the Edo period. Many of the Edo designs consist of repeated lines which
form a pattern, often depicting nature. I was particularly interested in the use of repeating lines
to express the movement of water and from this my ideas began to emerge.
