Naomi Campbell.

Naomi Campbell graduated in July 2003 with a BA Hons in Fine Art from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Dundee. Since graduating she has taken part in group exhibitions and her first solo exhibition in the Round Room, Talbot Rice Gallery, Edinburgh. Her work mainly photography but also collage and drawing, when displayed as a show sets a mood and a narrative. A selection of work from the last couple of years has been chosen specifically for the Panik Gallery. Beyond our physical reality is a reality created through our thoughts and feelings formed in response to what we are experiencing. That is for those short moments our reality. Inspired by film, music, books, nature and so on, extreme emotions are felt and reflected on. Whether initially empirical or not, transcendental energy progresses these experiences to something more, something personal. Setting a pensive and solitary mood, the work holds a sense of individual contemplation resonating back to the Northern Romantics. The work is about moments of gratitude or revelation. Triggered by a small incident or experience, self-realization and a new sense of life are discovered. A cycle that will continue indefinitely through the volatility of our emotional selves.
