Buy contemporary art and craft with an interest-free loan (typical 0% APR)

Own Art is a scheme offering interest-free credit for people to buy contemporary art and craft. You will need a bank account that can handle direct debits, proof of identity with your address on it, and you will also need to be over 18.

You can buy paintings, sculpture, prints, artists' film and video, artists' new media work, photography, jewellery, metalwork, ceramics, glass, furniture and textiles by living artists.

Loans are available from as little as £100 up to £2,000. The loan amount can go towards a work of art that costs more than £2,000 It is possible to buy several items at a time or one or more items at different times in different galleries providing the total amount you owe does not exceed £2,000

The amount you borrow is then paid back over ten months in equal amounts. There are no extra costs. There is no charge for the credit (typical 0% APR). This means the total amount payable under the loan, and the deposit, is not more than the cash price of the pieces(s) of work you purchased. There is no administrative charge or handling fee.
