Rob Hain

Rob Hain has always been interested in painting. At school he felt most at ease in the art room. He became an apprentice printer - a photo-litho colour retoucher in Oxford. Following a near fatal motorcycle accident Rob, during a long recuperation, painted at home. Later as the result of a suggestion from a family friend he went to Bambury Art College.
As a result of working with artists with mental health problems he became aware of different approaches which often brought out elements of creativity which had not been immediately apparent to him. Rob Hain was appointed as Artist in Residence of Selkirk WASPS Studios. He is now actively engaged in improving things for artists as a whole.
Rob's work continues to expand along seperate lines linked to the common theme of attention to detail and a high chromatic contrast which he finds in the acrylic paints. He is interested in all aspects of painting, especially the new and unusual.
