Artists Statement: My jewellery consists of linear forms and intricate surface detail. Every piece is individually handmade and wearability is an important element within my work. I work predominantly in silver but often incorporate other materials such as 18ct gold, gemstones, resin and stainless steel wire. I use 18ct gold as subtle details in my pieces or to highlight specific areas. Source references for my work are based on geometric forms, repetition and abstract images. Sources of inspiration for this have been skyscrapers, DNA structures and long grasses. Skyscrapers have inspired me to create geometric forms and patterns whereas DNA structures have inspired me to create pieces with rotating sections. Incorporating these important elements into my designs, I have been able to create a variety of two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms with intricate surface details. These linear forms have inspired me to create classic and elegant jewellery designs. My range of work includes one off pieces as well as batch production pieces of neckpieces, bangles, brooches, earrings and cufflinks.
