Artists Statement: My passion is exploring the body's experiment of the mind. Materials and process are focal aspects in developing work originating from an investigation between the conscious and sub-conscious. I am inspired by the relationship between physiology and mental processes and how they create and influence identity. The drawings are maps, exploring tension, texture, and raw emotion in a spatially dynamic structure, opposed to a narrative or linear composition. I explore medium as an intrinsic part of the form, a metaphor for language, thought, internal and external conflict; a landscape of irrational emotion and intellect.
