Tracey graduated in June 2006 from Edinburgh College of Art BA (hons).
Tracey's artwork is inspired by the picturesque landscapes derived from visiting the countryside. She uses photography to capture images which help transfer her experiences into paintings. She uses acrylic paint on both canvas and board frames, a simple palette is used to convey the mood of the areas. Winter scenes detail the fine branches and plants and she want the viewer to appreciate their beauty, rather than the cold bleakness of the season. It is hoped the work will inspire people to visit the places and experience the sights and emotions for themselves. Tracey is a slalom canoeist and keen hill walker, she tries to link her sporting interests with her art. The introduction of blocks of colour to divide the images within the paintings represents the slalom poles which divide up the competition course. The paintings take the viewer on a journey through magnificent landscapes surrounded by trees very much like most trips down a river.
